About Jake Skinner
I am a Mixing Engineer and Record Producer based in Brighton, UK. I have worked with hundreds of bands and artists both in the studio and remotely, and my work has received airplay on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6 Music, Radio X, and BBC Introducing, and has been championed by the likes of Steve Lamacq, Gideon Coe, and John Kennedy amongst others. I co-own and work out of Brighton Road Recording Studios, which opened in 2015.
I have also delivered guest lectures for Waterbear College of Music and Godalming College, and I have taught several successful courses in recording and mixing at Brighton Road.
As with many engineers I got my start in music playing drums and guitar in various bands, before transitioning to the other side of the glass where I have been recording, producing and mixing full time for over 10 years now.
My ethos is simple - I like to help my clients get as close as possible to the sound they hear in their head.
